The WPT has had high ratings on television since its inception, and the games are televised in National Football League format, complete with an announcer, a commentator and a game strategist.

The European Poker Tour is an offshoot of the incredibly successful World Poker Tour. The European Poker Tour (EPT) is set up like the WPT, but on a much smaller scale. The buy-ins and, thus, potential prize pots, are less than half that of the WPT. Still, the EPT is a televised event and many players on the WPT take time out to play in the EPT.
