In casinos, both land-based and online, the amounts of money involved are very high. Therefore scammers and hackers try to stay on top of new applications and take steps to make illegal gains through any means possible.
The most common form of fraud against casinos is made using stolen credit cards and false documents. Such a case occurred recently at both the Swiss Casino of Lugano and at the Italian casino of Sanremo where a man forged information by adding his photograph to documents that did not belong to him.
Fraud at online casinos also occurs and recently there was a scam against e-wallet “Neteller” and account holders at the site.
For players who want to be protected, it is advised to play at regulated online casinos where sensitive information on credit cards and bank account numbers is protected.
Sometimes, in search of added realism, online players are putting themselves at risk of fraud. In the Philippines, authorities recently caught a local gang cheating online players at live games – table games directed by real dealers. The dealers distributed stacked decks cards instead of utilizing the random number generator (RNG) algorithm used for online games today.
