A French couple celebrating their thirteen wedding anniversary decided to celebrate at the Bagneres-de-Bigorre casino in the Hautes-Pyrenees region of France and came home much richer than when they left.

When the two players saw on the slot screen the amount of 5,512,448 Euros, their first reaction was that there was something wrong with the electronic slot machine. However, the win was real and with just a 50 cent bet they are now millionaires. With their winnings the couple will be finally able to buy a sailboat they dreamed about for years. The couple says the rest of their money will be saved and they will continue to live normally. According to the French Press, the couple has a small kiosk where they sell kebabs.

The winning slot machine is part of a network of connected machines creating the progressive jackpot known as “Magic Casinos Jackpot,” one of the most popular at the casino. The progressive jackpot was started in September 2009 and is powered from 337 slot machines linked together and placed in 100 different casinos owned by the Barrière, Joagroupe, Tranchant, Émeraude groups, along with 24 independent casinos.
